shortly we will see new forms of interaction linking Ukrainian and Austrian artists
Being in a tough spot between education and the profession, it had to create a program that would combine the needs of viewers, artists’ dreams, and market realities. Bringing this challenge to the international level was the first and utterly important step in finding realistic and long-lasting solutions for the cultural dialogue between Ukraine and Europe.
Is Ukrainian choreographic education relevant to the international context? Can Austrian artists find their identity within Ukrainian contemporary art? How much European freedom can a traditional for Ukraine mentoring model allow? How much Ukrainian spontaneity can the Austrian early planning system withstand? During two months of the project, we have dealt with all these issues, and I hope that shortly we will see new forms of interaction linking Ukrainian and Austrian artists.
